WindCoin - a solution for our future energy demand?

Only a few things are as much discussed as the climate change and the necessary steps to stop it, respectively work against it. Most countries in the world agreed to a contract to reduce the carbon emissions (the US didn't agree 😆).

Wind energy is already widely accepted and used, especially in Europe, and it's more and more on the rise to replace old-fashioned oil and charcoal power plants. There is, however, still a lot to do to execute the full switch to "green energy".

As a nice project which is supporting this trend, I found recently WindCoin

The goals of WindCoin

• Blur the line between producers and consumers of energy, making it easier for consumers to become producers
• Connect the wind energy market with a dedicated blockchain to easily track, buy or sell energy using WindCoin
• Provide commercially viable wind turbines by making them cheaper using group order philosophy within the blockchain.

Since this project is at the very beginning of its journey there is, unfortunately, not much information available so far. The team stated that they want to focus first on building a strong community and trying to find partnerships and wind turbine producers who are interested in this project.

However, there is a sweet looking, and highly ambitious Roadmap published which you can find below.

Join the Airdrops and stay for the project

As already mentioned, the team want to focus first on building up a widespread community. Therefore 70% of the Tokens will be available as an Airdrop for those who follow some simple steps.

Once you signed up and you stay in the Telegram Channel you are eligible for all Airdrop Rounds. Also, if you do not move your Tokens you will get a bonus stake which is really cool.
The distribution of the Tokens happens every Saturday (next is on 18th November 2017) and I already got my first share of 1850 WindCoin, like 3241 others too.

Like most projects at an early stage, WindCoin is not tradeable yet, but we might see a bright future as soon as the development goes on and Blockchain is running.

Using a Wallet

If you want to participate it's essential to use a wallet where you hold your private key. If you participate with an exchange address you will NOT receive any tokens.

In case you are not familiar with an ETH wallet, I recommend you to create one on myetherwallet.
(It's a 100% safe link to the legit website of MEW)

If you enter the website you will immediately see a "create a new wallet" button. Click on it and simply follow all steps mentioned there. It is very easy to use and, in my personal opinion, the best ETH wallet you can get.
