In the meantime, "parents need to know what to do when an event is going on outside their school or on campus," said Police Scotland Regional Head Police Mark Rowley. He did an investigation into what happened, following initial reports of a sexual assault.
"We're aware of the situation and we're making sure it doesn't happen again," he said.
At 16th Street Hospital, two students were treated for a head injury when five students, all of whom were also students attending the school, ran over a group of boys and ran into a tree, which was a source of concern for parents.
The incident happened when five other students were carrying out a "self-help club" at the same time.
On the day that the group was held hostage, one of the boys ran into the tree with four other boys, then ran back to the other boys to confront him, at which point he apparently grabbed an umbrella from the tree and fled.
The other six students involved in the melee were taken to hospital with "excessive bleeding and serious head injuries," Rowley said.
The injuries sustained came about a week after two people were attacked outside Stade Française Primary School and one student collapsed with a head injury.
The situation has become quite dangerous, our members are doing a lot of research around it and are taking their time," he said.
"There's no safety for us right now at all."
He warned that despite the warnings from police about the possible threat, violence is "continuing on the frontlines" from a "substantial" number of armed police officers.
"The situation we've put together with the police is in part fuelled by the fact that they've still not managed to carry out their security requirements.
"If you look at the number of firearms and rifles that are actually coming back into contact with our officers these days, that's a massive problem that we need to address urgently.
"It's a very, very serious concern that's out there.
"In recent weeks it's been very, very aggressive," Mr Kelly added.
"It has led to a very serious threat."
