Ride with me #14 : Do good as you go!

Hello Steemians!

4 bikers from different parts of the world, got together to deliver laptops In Cambodia and teach children along the way... Today was one such day, where we did what we have been waiting to do all this time- we were able to introduce the school kids to the laptops.

About a dozen kids came to the area we are staying at and Tammy introduced them to the laptops, starting with the basics as most of these kids had never seen or touched one before. Soon after they had started, we got into the Rachel system and began exploring the enormous array of possibilities to learn from. Their faces lit up with excitement when they typed in things like elephant or monkey, and pictures and info flashed up to their eyes. They lined up behind each other, intently chatting and giggling in front of the screens.

After a few hours they were well initiated and their interest was rooted. We had lunch with them and considered ourselves a success.

It was almost sad though, we had traveled thousands of miles, through mud and water and airports and confusing gas stations to this amazing place in the jungle to help these amazing kids- but now what do we do?

Sure we had many days left of beautiful Cambodian traveling, with sights we've never seen. But we couldn't help but feel a little melancholy, from the feeling those little faces gave us. I must say though, it filled us with the drive to help more, and I will not soon forget how much of a difference our contribution made to this community.

It's not only about the riding all the time, but the people, the cultures, the challenges, the laughs and the magic of having the freedom to explore and doing good along the way.
