Hello Steemit!
You will have to forgive me for initially not being too excited about riding to Bourke’s Luck Potholes, which are part of the Blyde River Canyon in South Africa... After all, I ride daily on pothole-filled roads here in India while I commute to work :D But these were very different potholes, completely different!
Looking back It was a lifetime of memories riding through the misty, scenic and majestic Drakensberg Mountains of the Mpumalanga escarpment, which is a very geographically diverse area with mountains, breathtaking canyons, panoramic passes, waterfalls, and forests.
Nature in South Africa is rather grand, everything so much more unique, vibrant and unduplicated by god. The Panorama Route’s first highlight is the Blyde River Canyon, which is the largest green canyon in the world because of its lush subtropical vegetation, and the third largest canyon in terms of size, Blyde River Canyon is 26 kms in length and 800 mts deep on average.
Just around the corner is Bourke’s Luck Potholes, one of nature’s little masterpieces. Named after a gold digger, Tom Bourke. are a result of the confluence of the Blyde River and the Treur River in the South African region of Mpumulanga, thousands of years of water erosion have created a unique and otherworldly geological feature.
The canyon, together with the Potholes, form part of the 25,000 hectare Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve which contains more than 1,000 species of flora, many of which are endangered. At the southern edge of the reserve is "God’s Window" a 250km long wall of sheer cliffs that plummet 700 mts deep and as far as the Kruger National Park. The day just kept getting better and we continued on our ride to a much higher point called the "Wonder View".
You have to visit this place and actually be there to experience the beauty. As no camera or image can! I'm inspired by @velimir Motorcycle travel series and would love to share more of my travel adventures with you Steemians

Such beautiful potholes you got there! Love the view and your amazing photos! Have a safe drive on your road trips. :)
Wow. South Africa is much more beautiful than what I've ever imagined! You are so lucky to ride in these great locations in these great machines.
South Africa is definitely beautiful... But there are much more beautiful places in India and I think you should first explore our country before you go on to see the rest of the world @gopaalgnair :)
Haha, thats true. I've explored most parts of the south and there are places which are more beautiful. There's much more to explore for me before going to other countries. :)
Those machines look really menacing. Do you need some special permit to ride in the USA? Or Indian licenses work just fine?
Our Indian license is valid for the first 6 months. It's better if you have an International driving permit or license though.
