RE: Daily Dose of Sultnpapper 07/22/18> Byte my Balls and Airdrops… it’s a matter of perspective.
Oh Man. One of my favorite topics. Witness collusion to the problems of Steemit.
We have some problems here on Steemit, a platform that I am really fond of and have given a fair piece of my time. Seems to me we could use a hard fork on the chain, and have been promised one since way before I got here. Year and a half if my figures are correct. Likewise with SMT and an API that would allow business to come to Steemit.
Most of the witnesses will tell you that it's not their job, that the 'corporate' part of Steemit is responsible for all that. Which is technically correct. But the witnesses are just like congress in that way. They could throw the rascals out but don't because they are making just too much money taking the rake off the chain. Sound familiar.
At least with the US congress we do have a chance to throw the bastards out. With 'weighted voting' they just vote for themselves and what the membership wants has no bearing on what happens. None.
Byteballs is no better or worse than any other newly created coin, the path to great riches is to energize a community to back said coin and wait for the price rise. BB isn't the only one to use Steemit and the only real disruption that I have noticed is a flood of DMs.
I think I'll go crawl back under my rock, or on top of Connie. I'm on the home stretch now..
Thanks for a great post on a subject near and dear to my heart.
I like this place to and to hear that description by a witness and then barely a soul take him to task in the comments was a little puzzling to me. I just check my replies and didn't see a response yet to my question so we will have to wait and see, I did catch the tail end yesterday of the "witness ramble" hosted by Shadows Pub and I mentioned that I read the "fragile" and "easy to game" in the post of a witness so Shadow picked it up and asked the witnesses that were there the question. They acted like the only issue would be a person using bid bots to boost their REP was the only "gaming" of the system that they could think of.
Safe travels Tom, thanks for the thoughtful reply.
