Early Access games are ruining gaming.

Early-Access-Img.jpg Early access games are currently the bane of my existence. Does anyone remember the time when you could go to the store, buy a 60 dollar game and have a totally complete finished product on a disc? I sure as fuck don't. When did it become the status quo of the videogame industry to pay for a service that is not even complete yet? Would you go to the store and pay for groceries before you even walk in based on a promise that they will be there? That's what early access is to me. When you see an early access game and there are "tiers" of purchase like 100 dollars gets you a whole bunch of goodies and weapons or whatever that don't even fucking exist yet, what goes through your head? that it may be a scam? That's what I think. Look at star citizen, they are the largest crowdfunded video game in history and you can buy ships and real estate in a game where the product does not even exist. Again, does this make any sense? funding a project that may or may not even come to light? It has been around 7 years and there is just no real concrete evidence that star citizen will ever be finished. Other than a promise, that has been broken many times.

The real issue is early access is a good excuse to not produce any content for the game. You have your playable alpha, but instead of improving the game, the devs focus on making crates and hats to sell to further fund the development of the game. See how that is just so ass backwards? Why not just spend time making the game to sell for a profit! The answer is simple: developers know how massively casual and useless "gamers" are nowadays. It's much easier to sell a promise then to sell anything tangible, and gullible gamers eat up their story like an all you can eat buffet. The gamers are to blame too, most don't want a good story that is engaging, with good action or anything. They just want a shiny guns and skins to look cool in the game, instead of actually being good at the game and enjoying it for what it is. It's frustrating to see how low gaming has come where my friends and I actually play miniclip games because they are actually complete. What is really funny though is that in the miniclip games there are microtransactions for weapon skins. It has just gone on long enough. Give me a completed game or give me death.

It's a late night mini rant, but it just had to be said.
