Bangladesh Armed Forces Land Arbitration Of Bangladesh Armed Forces It is the largest branch of Bangladesh Armed Forces. The primary responsibility of the army is to provide the necessary power and manpower with all types of security and defense, including the integrity of Bangladesh's territorial integrity. All types of activities of the army are regulated by the Armed Forces Division. In addition to the primary responsibility, the Bangladesh Army is constitutionally committed to help the civil administration in any emergency.

Contributions to UN peacekeeping missions

Bangladesh Army has actively participated in UN peacekeeping missions for many years. In 1998, Bangladesh Army was sent for the first time in the United Nations Peace Keeping Mission. The army of Nisshera was deployed in Iraq and Namibia. [29] The deployment was done by the then President Hu Mu Ershad. Later, after the Gulf War, Bangladesh Army sent a mechanical-infantry fleet under the UN mission. Since then Bangladesh Army has participated in 30 peacekeeping missions in 25 countries. [29] These countries include Angola, Namibia, Cambodia, Somalia, Sudan, Eritrea, Uganda, Rwanda, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mozambique, Yugoslavia, Liberia, Haiti , Tajikistan, Western Sahara, Sierra Leone, Kosovo, Georgia, East Timor, Congo, Ivory Coast and Ethiopia A.

So far, 88 Bangladeshi soldiers have lost their lives in these peacekeeping missions. [29] The contribution of the Bangladeshi army to peacekeeping missions is highly appreciated. In recognition of this contribution, the attendance of the members of the Bangladesh military in the UN mission is continuously increasing. [29] Bangladesh Army has become an expert on peacekeeping operations through the management of peacekeeping and nation-building operations at different parts of the world. The army has set up the Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operation Training (BIPSOT) for the training of participants in the United Nations Peace Keeping Mission. This training center has been set up in accordance with the United Nations General Assembly's decision on the United Nations Peacekeeping Operation, "It is the responsibility of every country to arrange training for the Armed Forces personnel before any deployment".
