Well, for now there's no translator inbuilt in Steemit, may be in the future. But you can do that on other translators. If you have a considerable following and people who're following you knows the same language like you do, then you can write post in your native language. Don't worry people will follow you and read your article.
As far as successful post is concerned, there's no hard and fast rule exist for that. You just have to be 'YOU' while posting, share your experience, share your passion, share your thoughts and try to build a following. People will come as soon as they'd see your stuff. They always do.
