So the name of his father's nasab is used again so that it becomes Miqdad bin Amru. Nevertheless, the name Miqdad bin Aswad is more popular for him. In the nickname, Miqdad bin Aswad is also often called by Abu Aswad, Abu Amru, Abu Ma'bad and Abu Sa'id.

Initially, those who participated in this hijrah amounted to 14 people, ie 10 men (including Miqdad) and 4 women. Then the number continues to grow to reach 83 men and 17 women. Furthermore, Miqdad returned home with the emigrants who emigrated to Habashah, then followed the Prophet emigrated to Medina.

In Medina, Miqdad assisted Rasulullah and other companions in spreading the da'wah of Islam, as well as being active in battle with the Prophet and the Muslims.

Miqdad bin Amru participated in the Battle of Badr. In this war, the Muslims got a glorious victory over the Quraish infidels. In this war, Miqdad emerged as a formidable warrior. It is reported that Miqdad was the first to fight in the way of Allah on horseback.

Miqdad bin Amru also participated in the War of Uhud, Khandaq War, and Khaibar War, so he gained a high position by the Messenger of Allah. It is not surprising that the Messenger of Allah married Miqdad with his cousin, Dhuba'ah bint Zubair bin Abdul Muttalib.

Miqdad also participated in conquest wars with the Islamic army. At the time Amru bin Ash requested additional troops to Caliph Umar bin Khaththab to break into Babylon's citadel, Umar bin Khathtab sent 4,000 troops led by senior companions, namely Zubair bin Awwam, Miqdad bin Amru, Ubadah bin Shamir, and Maslamah bin Mukhallad. []
