Wohooo! We have a new kid on the blockchain and it is an AWESOME kid
To every steemian, it is very new and delightful news for you! @Blocktrades started delegating SP power.
You say, so what? We have been using @Minnowbooster?
Well, I am not telling you to stop using @Minnowbooster, but I was blown by how instantaneous the delegation through @Blocktrades was.
Let me give you a little comparison here:

So as you can see, there are not much differences in the quality and ease of use between the two services. However, they differe in terms of the advantages they offer.
In summary:
Advantages of @Blocktrades
- It is The Champion when it comes to Fast delivery.
- Has better price of STEEM/SP for long term leases (30 days to be precise).
- You have cryptocurrency instead of STEEM? No problem! You still can get SP delegation
I haven't figured out yet how they calculate their price for 90days. In their post, they wrote:
The cost for a 30 day should be relatively similar to that offered by MinnowBooster, with some additional discount available for 90 day delegations. Also we plan to shortly enable the ability to renew existing delegations from BlockTrades at a discounted rate.
...
Advantages of @Minnowbooster
- Has more variation when it comes to the length of lease
- Has better price of STEEM/SP for short term leases
What does the new kid @Blocktrades bring to the block?
@Minnowbooster has been long in this business and it is about time they get some challenging competition that will incentivize them to enhance their services (or maybe not!).

A post will not be good post unless it has at least one complaint :P
I have been noticing that @Minnowbooster providers are becoming more tight and rigid in their rules (which I really don't blame them for doing it) because of the abusers that have been taking advantage of their voting services.
Also, @Minnowbooster SBD voting limits have been extremely erratic lately. One day it is 8SBD/day, next it is 10SBD, then it is 5SBD and God Knows what it will become eventually.
However, as usual, all these unexpected changes and tight regulations that are made for abusers, are actually affecting legit people who are working hard to give quality contents to Steemit readers.
Although I wish there is a way to distinguish between the abuser and legit instead of pooling them all in the same basket, I understand that it is hard to do so unless @Minnowbooster hires curators to make sure the posts they upvote are actually good content abiding their Terms of Services.
Add one rotten apple to a 100 of fresh ones and you get yourself a basket of 101 rotten apples. It is the eternal problem with everything in this world. Human Greed!!! Sigh!

Many Thanks to @Blocktrades for initiating this service which I hope will get even better with time. I was saved by the instant delegation which made me vary happy, especially with the amount of STEEM that I could afford.

If you go to Blocktrades.us you can see how the prices compare. The 90 day delegation is a much better deal than the 30 day. You get 10-15% more SP. So VERY GREAT if you can afford it.
ONE OF YOUR CRITICISMS OF minnowbooster isnt valid in this instance.... BECAUSE their Upvote-service-SBD-limits fluctuating(yeah....changes every couple days) has nothing to do with their SP delegation service.... Not relevent in comparison to Blocktrades.
Now... I have tried to figure out the math... And best as I can figure... NEITHER of these services are PROFITABLE at current rates. Blocktrades is obviously better... But unless you plan to Upvote yourself everday, 10 times a day, for 100%... You don't grow by this delegated SP. (And few or no one reading your posts are the self voting scheming type)
NOW.. the less demonstrable aspects... DO you just like giving away larger upvotes? Win!
Could you possibly get higher curation rewards that make it worth it? Maybe.
Could your larger upvotes draw more followers and hence, larger cumulative post payouts? Maybe... Hit or Miss.
What I found most interesting was to see that @dan was 100% opposed to the whole idea of selling SP delegations.... Wonder if he is seeing something we arent!?

OMG! This was like the answer to a prayer when I opened it this morning -- minutes after you posted it. This looks like wonderful news -- because I absolutely agree with you that MinnowBooster is both the best minnow service on Steemit AND that it desperately needs some competition.
In some ways they don't go far enough in the advantages they try to offer -- and while they have always played fair with us, their shifting terms of service makes it hard to develop a consistent strategy of use and reliability. They are one of the most important features on Steemit. I desperately want to see them succeed.
(The "roll the dice" feature of most bid bots -- with the very real possibility that you will wind up with less than you paid in the end -- has kept us -- me and my husband -- away from them. Maybe they're a good idea, but maybe they mostly benefit their developers -- which I suppose is fair. Nobody forces you to use them. But, in the beginning, Steem currencies are too hard to come by to risk losing them if you didn't do all your calculations correctly and then get really lucky on top of everything.)
My husband and I have discussed often -- and at length -- what we would do with various options of leased steem, but nothing really looked worth pursuing -- not for ourselves, not what we could offer the community of decent content providers -- of which we definitely need more on Steemit. This post will reopen those discussions. We're already talking about it and looking into it. Thank you so much for writing and publishing this post this morning!!

Interesting to see the rates and wonder how this will all play out. Long term supporter of @minnowbooster and appreciate the support from @reggaemuffin but sadly, in the end, it comes down to business and profitability. Would not like to leave @minnowbooster but they will have to up their game a bit to stay in the market with the new kid. =P

To be honest, I was about to write a post promoting @minnowbooster's upvoting services compared to other "betting" bots, but the new regulations and the constant unpredictable changes made it hard to do so.

Yeah the unpredictability is sadly part of it as we have to control supply a bit. But currently limits are pretty much raised :)
