I'm not sure about SMT's but Steem/DPoS reminds me more of Bitcoin as computer networks are in competition to "earn, witness, or mine" currency. And they sort that as non security.
Yeah, I meant that if the laws around them get softer and the majority won't be considered as securities then people may not be afraid to go wild on creating as many SMT's as they like. :)
