Word on the BLOCK: 15th March
Hello everybody and welcome to the latest Blocknet newsletter update of 2018! This newsletter is released twice per month to keep the community up to date on what is happening with Blocknet. You can view the previous newsletters here.
- The Blocknet Whitepaper has been released and can be downloaded here. or on the website under the “Resources” menu option.
- Some of the core team is attending TokenFest in San Francisco on March 15th and 16th.
- The BLOCK DX was launched earlier this month. The complete beta release is scheduled for Wednesday, March 21st.
- Community liaisons Redbaron and StormingJ have been highlighting and reporting constant community feedback to the core team since the launch of the Blocknet DX UI. As a result of this, a 'rolling' FAQ of common questions from the community is being planned that will serve as a depository of knowledge for the community as we lead up to full launch later in the year.
- A new tidbit channel in Discord has been created for day to day developments and project updates between newsletters.
- The launch of the Blocknet DX UI recently took place. The full beta will be released Wednesday, 21st March. You can find the details about the Alpha release of the UI here. A setup guide for Block DX can be found here. and will be updated constantly.

- The Blocknet Whitepaper has been released and can be downloaded here. or on the website under the “Resources” menu option.
- Work has begun on automating the Xbridge and coin configurations.
- The existing wallet color scheme changes are nearing finalization. This is temporary until the wallet redesign launch on June 15th. The ability to view Superblock proposals and vote within the wallet is one of the planned functions
- The complete wallet redesign spec has been finalized for submission. The design prototype will be revealed April 1st to the community and will be open for feedback
- The community can check Trello to see progress of public items.
- The branding and logo for the Blocknet DX was recently revealed in a livestream with VSA Partners.
- Events.
- Co-Founder Arlyn Culwick recently attended Blockchain Africa
- Some of the core team are currently attending Token Fest in San Francisco on March 15th and 16th.
- Global Blockchain Expo in London (the largest in the world) on 18th - 19th April.
- Amsterdam Blockchain Expo on 27th - 28th June.
- San Jose, California Blockchain Expo on 28th - 29th November.
- Most KPI's from the marketing plan have been met. Google Adword campaigns were planned to begin after TokenFest, but due to Google banning crypto related advertising new strategies are being developed.
- Q2 Marketing Plan will be released April 4th along with a full report of Q1 KPI review.
- An article on interoperability is currently under review and being prepped for release. There are also an additional two articles on related subjects that are currently being worked on.
- The introductory Blocknet video Bob and Mav had been working on is now complete. It can be viewed here
- The new website was recently revealed. Based on community feedback, changes to the site are coming next week. If you would like to leave feedback on the website, please use this form.
- A directory page has been created to navigate all of Blocknet's resources.)
- A greater collective of tutorials and frequently asked questions are being compiled and will be released shortly.

- Community member bbr has been producing videos of trades taking place on the new Blocknet DX UI on his YouTube channel. So far, there are videos of a BLOCK > DASH trade, a DASH > PIVX trade and a DGB > XC trade.
- For Superblock 302400, there were a total of 3 proposlas submitted to the network for voting. In order for a proposal to pass, it must have a majority in favor and at least 10% of Service Nodes must have voted for that proposal in either direction or abstained. At the time of the Superblock there were 416 Service Nodes meaning each proposal required a minimum of 41 votes. The results of this Superblock are as follow:
- XBridge Team - Yeas: 122, Nays: 0, Abstains: 0 - PASSED
- Core Team - Yeas: 122, Nays: 0, Abstains: 0 - PASSED
- Euro Team - Yeas: 120, Nays: 0, Abstains: 0 - PASSED

- So far 207 coins have been addressed. (11 additions since last newsletter.) 55 are currently finalized of which 37 are unannounced (5 additions since last newsletter) and 18 are announced) The 18 announced are:

- A constantly updated list of compatible coins can be found here.
- 118 coins are in progress for error resolution + finalization.
- In addition 12 coins are being reviewed for possible custom integration.
- 162 different coins have had orders placed on the DEX.
- The price of BLOCK is currently at $20.19 (0.00241707 BTC) at time of writing.

- The APR 7-day average for Service Nodes is currently at 18.93% and for staking it is currently 13.39%.
- Lockup percentage from Service Nodes: 42.87%
