in #blockchains8 years ago

Ethereum, Bitcoin, and blockchain expert William Mougayar joins us today. William's new book, The Business Blockchain (http://www.thebusinessblockchain.com), was recently featured on TechCrunch and elsewhere. As a long time industry insider, William Mougayar is a prolific researcher, writer and theorist who has been described as the most sophisticated blockchain business thinker. We discussed Ethereum's rapid growth, emerging non-currency use cases for Ethereum such as the Akasha decentralized social media platform, how the growth of Bitcoin and blockchains mirror the growth of the Internet in its early years... and much more!

Where is Davids Steemit page?

David Seaman is not a fan of Steemit. He was saying in one of his You Tube video's someone could quite easily take the Steemit platform and coding then set up another Steemit website using ethereum's platform and he also said the Steemit price which went up very quickly could also quite easily fall right back down again.

I was thinking at the time he should look into Steemit in more detail first before making such comments, as above. It is also a shame he has such a pessimistic view on Steemit because I think he would be very popular on Steemit and on top of that he could make quite a lot of money because his channel is quite popular on YouTube with around 12,000 to 13,000 subscribers.

You're definitely right about that. Im surprised how quickly Steemit has taken off. I know that there is an ethereum based social media platform coming, called Akasha, but not sure if it will compete with Steemit. But he has an interesting point that there could be a lot of competition for this blockchain based social media.

It could end up like Bitcoin where they have had a lot of competition with new crypto currencies improving on what they have done and they still maintain the top slot.

Maybe Steemit can do the same as they have a head start, but then again they could fall away to the way side like MySpace did.

As long as Steemit can give the public what they want (like Facebook did) then it could go the way of Facebook.

Only time will tell as all we can do for now is guess and speculate.
