Eximchain ico - KYC for aidrop - how far will it go?

in #blockchain7 years ago

Today Eximchain, company that is going build a supply chain basin on the ethereum blockchain, announced that they will not run public token sale due to the high interest of so called 'private investors' and business partners. As a consolation prize they will airdrop eximchain tokens for people who are on the whitelist. However, it is distasteful that exhimchain requires KYC in order to receive their tokens. Also i think they are building illusion of the fake hype around their project to sell tokens with a larg profit.

I think it is bad that companies try to regulate something that cannot be regulated. Is it possible to regulate possesion of data on CDs or having the gmail account? It is less possible to regulate possesion of assets in the decentralized anonymous blockchain. That is something what should not happen when the technology is starting it's growth because no one know limits and possible risks.

Thanks for info!
Polymath recently did the same, they airdropped 250 POLY tokens to 50000 participants, one token now worth of $1.
Airdrop sometimes may be much more profitable than ICO ;)
