Just a quick addition to my thinking: The W3C are already making progress on standardizing web payment flows, including Bitcoin (https://github.com/w3c/webpayments-flows/wiki). It'd be awesome to see that firm up in parallel with thinking about P2P connectivity via WebRTC... adoption would be a lot higher it were able to stand up against Apple Pay, Visa etc.
