CopyTrack - The Global Copyright Register

Due to technological advances that make content sharing extremely easy and inexpensive, and due to a drastic increase in the utilization of Internet-related platforms such as social media copyright protection for digital assets has become increasingly difficult in recent years. Since the dawn of the Internet Age in the late 1990's, legislators around the globe have been trying to determine how to balance the need to protect an author's intellectual property from unauthorized use without hampering innovation.

Google photos and TinEye came up with a method to provide reverse image searches for a fee. For example, TinEye allows the content owner to upload an image to the service, allowing TinEye to scour the Internet to find every use of that photo online, identifying the websites that have used it. This leads to a demand letter being sent to the alleged infringer asking for payment of a licensing fee.

Although effective, these methods are highly centralized and leave room for dispute. COPYTRACK is a highly decentralized and automated copyright enforcement ecosystem. At the core of COPYTRACK is the creation of a global decentralized copyright register for digital content, which authenticates users and links digital intellectual property.

This registry will generate a unique ecosystem for rights-holders, thereby providing new e-client marketplaces. With its cutting edge technology and processes, it is well-suited to globally address the key challenges in the industry and will be open to the public.
