Believe nothing what you hear and only half of what you see..!!
Centralised, Decentralised and Distributed
Many years ago I was told a saying that stuck with me and I often use.
"Believe nothing what you hear and only half of what you see..!!"
When I first heard the saying I was unsure what to think and if truth be known I parked it for a few years and never really understood the meaning.
A few years ago I started to question some of the things I was seeing being reported on television and it was then that I decided to revisit the saying I was told.
"Believe nothing what you hear and only half of what you see..!!"
Over and over I began to revisit past events that had been reported and with the benefit of hindsight applied the theory.
The results were simply mind blowing..!!
FAKE NEWS
In today's World we are left to our own devices to filter out the truth from the lies, the right from the wrong, the bad from the evil and it is up to the individual to choose what to believe.
Fake News is an Epidemic and things will get a lot worse before they get better.
Over the last 30 years since the advent of the Internet it has become harder for Mainstream Media to control the flow of News.
This is about to get even more difficult with the birth of Digital Distributed Ledger Technology..!!
BLOCKCHAIN
There is absolutely no doubt whatsoever that Blockchain Technology will totally revolutionise the way Media is shared and distributed.
As we all know Blockchain Technology is the simple term used for the more technical one less commonly used "Digital Distributed Ledger Technology".
Digital Distributed Ledger Technology is nothing more than a means to share and distribute information and data.
CENTRALISED / DECENTRALISED MEDIA
Media is currently being distributed from a centralised source and thus is effectively controlled and dictated.
This is set to change with the birth of the Distributed Ledger. A technology where not one body or entity owns, controls, influences, or directs the flow of information.
Applying this technology to Mainstream Media will for the first time filter out the TRUTH from the LIES..!!
PAST EVENTS
News events that have occurred in the past will in the future be revisited and passed through a Distributed Ledger and the results may be SHOCKING..!!
What you thought of was the truth may turn out not to be and it will be up to the individual to decide if they choose to accept the findings or choose to disbelieve the results..!!
DECENTRALISED SOCIAL MEDIA
We are living in challenging Financial, Social and Political times and now is the time when Technology is set to play a huge part in the landscape of shared news.
Steemit is at the forefront of this Technological Revolution and one that will help you decide if it is right that you should "Believe nothing what you hear and only half of what you see..!!" when it comes to Mainstream News.
Thanks for reading.
Stephen
When I first heard the saying it made so much sense that I internalized it immediately. Had never thought to make the connection that you just did, however. Very good!
Thank you. Stephen
Your insights are very well put, as ever. It begs the question, putting my contrarian hat on, does this technologically driven existence lead us into a good place? Or will technology come full circle and re-engage us with our reality?
Thank you for a great post!
Technology will condense 40 years of lies, corruption, fraud and deceit into ONE moment. How individuals choose to accept it and deal with it will be down to them. One thing's for sure is that the TRUTH is about to come out..!! Stephen
