Pirl Mining using Claymore AMD + Nvidia Miner with Window/Linux
In this post, I'll show you how to mine Pirl (PIRL) on Windows. The purpose of this tutorial is to demonstrate how to setup and start mining Pirl, a PoW based Cryptocurrency based on the Dagger Algorithm. If you've not heard of Pirl before, the reason might be that it's still a relatively new Cryptocurrency, based on the similar Protocol that Ethereum is based on, with a potentially bright future
Codebase: Ethereum
Algorithm: Ethash
Block Reward: 12 PIRL
Miner Reward: 10 PIRL
Masternode & Dev: 2 PIRL
Block Target: 13 seconds
Reward for Node Owner
Launch Date: 09/30/2017
What makes this a good Cryptocurrency to mine, is that it's another Ethash cryptocurrency that can be mined with the Claymore miner V10.0 , which is built to specifically mine Ethereum however with a few adjustment it can also be used to mine Pirl, Decred & Siacoin
The purpose of this tutorial is to demonstrate how to get start to mining Pirl, using the Claymore Dual Miner (AMD + NVIDIA) using Windows. Note that Linux setup is similar to this, just follow the steps to begin mining
Keep in mind that I'll be using a Nvidia Graphic Card to mine Pirl using Windows 10, this can be done also with a AMD graphic card as Claymore Miner supports both. Below is the setup that I used in this Tutorial
Mining Setup | Personal Desktop |
---|---|
Operating System | Windows 10 |
Graphic Card | GTX 1060 STORMX 3072M GDDR5 192bit |
Processor | Intel i5-7400, 3GHZ, 6MB Cache, LGA1151 |
Motherboard | ASUS H110M-K |
Step 1 - Generate a Pirl Wallet
Get yourself a Payout address by using Pirl.io a free to use wallet, used for generating a Pirl receiving address. You'll also want full control over your funds, so remember to never share your private key with anyone.
Perhaps, you'll also noticed that it's similar to MyEtherWallet, so setting up a Wallet should be quick and easy. Just remember thePrivate Key as it grants you full access to your earned mining rewards and write down the receiving wallet address which is to be used in Step 3
Step 2 - Download Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v10.1
Now, proceed by Downloading & Extracting Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v10.1 , get it directly from this Link or feel free to visit the official BitcoinTalk Forum
For convenience, I recommend creating a dedicated Folder for your Miner. Since you don't need to actually download big Blockchain files or install a program to run this particular Pirl Miner, everything is stored within the Folder. Extract the Miner files to a folder that is easily accessible, so that you can start-up the miner at any given time without having to spend much time searching for it
Step 3 - Configure your Miner
Once downloaded, open up the file and look for the following Note document known as ''start.bat'' and proceed with a right-click, choose ''edit''.
When you Edit ''start.bat'', Notepad will open and should display this
EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool pirl.minerpool.net:8004 -ewal addresshere -epsw x -ethi 8 -allpools 1 -esm 0 -allcoins 1
All you need to do now, is simply Replace the text that says "addresshere" with your public wallet address created from Step 1. (Note, do not use a Private Key but instead a receiving address)
In this tutorial my mining address is 0xB41c5Db4a273cC8901895c30dFbF1d0f7702E818
To avoid an error, leave the rest as it is and remember to insert your address, failure to do so could result in the miner sending payouts to the wrong address. Replace the previous stated address by copying and pasting your Pirl Wallet Address (Remember to leave a space before & after the address)
Once you have done that, you can proceed by the saving the document In the upper left hand corner
click File > Save As
Feel free to close Notepad and double-click on ''start.bat'', the Command Prompt should pop-up and begin connecting to the Pirl's Blockchain & Mining Pool.
Just give it a couple of minutes for Claymore Miner to connect to ''pirlminerpool'' and Pirl's Blockchain network
Now, you can mine Pirl whenever you feel like it, just run it by double clicking ''start.bat''. Unlike, mining other Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum or Monero, you don't actually need to download additional data in order to mine. Just like Zencach, with Pirl you can initiate mining with a single click. Once the Window's batch file is already configured, all you need it to do now is open up the miner with the credentials you've made
Personally, I'm a big fan of one-click Mining because I find myself more of a casual miner who recently bought a high-end PC instead of operating a Mining Rig. This makes it convenient to utilize a Graphic Card in order mine to generate profit, without the hassle of actually having to download the entire Blockchain for Bitcoin Mining
Check Status
With a properly configured Miner, you should begin mining Pirl once successfully connected to the Pool. Command Prompt should indicate that there is a connection being established (should be finding Shares)
All the newly minted Pirl tokens will be send to your Wallet based on 2 daily Payouts, you can actually check the Mining progress by visiting Pirl.minerpool.net
Since Claymore Miner was build for Ethereum mining, note that the command prompt will show that you’re mining “ETH”, that's because the algorithm is the same. Don’t worry, you’re mining Pirl only that will be paid-out directly to your Wallet
Just send Pirl to an exchange to cash out with Bitcoin. Now, you can initiate the Claymore Miner whenever you feel like it by running ''start.bat'', it usually takes a couple of minutes before seeing some results. Once the miner is configured, enjoy the convenience of turning a Computer into money-making machine that helps secure Pirl's Network

Thanks for your post on Windows Pirl Mining. I find it very educational. I rewarded, and ReSteemed
Nice your post @steemitguide
Thank you! Hope you enjoy this hassle-free mining setup :)
Thanks for the guide...its help..would it possible to run the miner on a basic pc too..coz i have and an old pc 2012?
You can give it a go! Use the Calculator to determine whether mining is profitable however usually Old graphic card don't make it worthwhile as they consume just about the same electricity but don't compete well against newer models
thanks ... i try to let you know again if i have the result ...
