We all know that, In the computer fields security is an important concern. Whenever we find a breach on security of computer we try close that breach. Sometimes attacker finds some breach in security of computer or network and enters into network illegally. There is a lot of kind of attack. One of them is the DDoS attack-

DDoS  is  Distributed denial of service.

DDos Vs Dos-

 In Dos only one Computer and on internet system used. In DDos multiple computer and internet connection used.

DDos-

In simple terms, we can say DDos is an attack to make unavailable the system from the legitimate user. It means a legitimate user can not use the system.

DDos is an attack for making a system unavailable by overload the system with traffic from different sources. Int this attack it is very difficult to detect between legitimate user and attacker.

DDos types -

By sending a huge volume of TCP, UDP and IPCM packets.

By sending a massive amount of junk data to which causes loss of network bandwidth.

By depleting the resources in the application layer.

 Various companies provide DDoS attack protection. For Example-

Akamai

Rackspace 

Cloudflare

Current technology-

These websites use there own huge datacenters to protect and verify traffic for a system. They take charge for that. Their capacity is limited in terms of computing powers to verify and protect the system. If a large volume of traffic comes then speed of analyzing packets are going slow because the datacenters have limited capacity to handle requests.

Coming Technology-

We all heard about Blockchain. The term Blockchain makes us remember the cryptocurrency. Now the question is that how Blockchain is related to DDoS attack prevention. So first I am going to tell about Bitcoin transaction and mining.

In Bitcoin mining, numbers of peoples use there computing powers to protect Bitcoin blockchain and they are rewarded for selling their computing power. Thus a large number of worlds computing power are used to protect the Bitcoin.

Gladius-

Gladius is a new project based on Ethereum Blockchain for secure the system from DDoS attacks. In this project, people  sell there computing powers. These computing powers help to protect the system from DDoS attack. The people who sell there computing power are rewarded.

Pros of Gladius Project-

I think Gladius is very efficient, fast, and valuable project. It has much advantage over Current DDoS protection technologies. The reason behind is, traffic and packets verification not limited to data centers. It has a large number of computing power from all over the world. People sell there computing power for reward.

It is very fast and efficient in cost and time because the system is spread almost all over the world wherein current technology there have only a few selected data centers that handle verification, which takes time.

Cryptocurrency is trending today. Today a large number of people started mining so in this project it can be expected that a huge number of computer power added soon to Gladius.

This technology will have the largest uptime in DDoS protection field.

One great advantage is that, it is decentralized.

Gladius helps the people to give a new way to get paid which helps in remove unemployment.

Gladius is blockchain based so payment does not require any third party involvement.

So we can see a lot of advantages in Gladius project.
