SPINDLE Blockchain Platform Aims to Put Individuals in Charge of Investments

The purpose of the SPINDLE project is to give individuals more control over their investments and more financial freedom via a decentralized blockchain investment matchmaking platform.

The SPINDLE platform (called “ZETA”) is to be designed to provide investors with the complete history of all investments through smart contracts so they can make informed decisions. It would also give investors far more freedom by enabling them to purchase “ideas of investments” directly with the SPINDLE (SPD) ERC20 Protocol, Ethereum-based cryptocurrency.

SPINDLE’s middle-term goal is to build an original blockchain that will connect investors directly with asset managers. This would theoretically give any investor with an internet connection access to the kind of investment opportunities currently only available to hedge-fund participants.

Designed to end Investors’ Unease by Eliminating the Middleman

One of the main goals of SPINDLE is to end the doubt and unease that many investors have about today’s financial markets by eliminating the middleman. SPINDLE’s creators at the Tokyo & London based Japanese investment firm BLACKSTAR&CO. hope to achieve this by using blockchain technology to ensure a more transparent investment process.

“Such investment is immediately recorded in the blockchain using smart contract technology so that the relationship between investors and asset managers is created on equal terms without the need for conventional banks or securities companies to act as middlemen,” The SPINDLE website states.

Starting with Cryptocurrency

The first step in launching ZETA platform will be an initial coin offering (ICO) of 1,200 million SPD tokens. The Blackstar team hopes to raise 60,000 Ethereum (ETH) worth of funds through the ICO.

Long-term plans call for a crowdsale of 3,700 million SPD tokens worth of ETH and private sales of 2,500 million SPD tokens worth of ETH.

Distribution of the tokens is scheduled to begin just days after the end of the ICO, which is scheduled for April 29 to May 7, 2018.

Making Hedge Funds more Transparent

A major goal of SPINDLE is to make hedge funds more transparent. Hedge-fund investors often do not know what they are buying into in the current market because of a lack of transparency.

Blockchain and smart contract can be used to create a highly-transparent and clearly visible record of all transactions through the ZETA platform. Investors will be able to understand exactly what they are buying. More importantly, they will be able to see where the investment came from, and who created it.

There will be a clear record of every asset’s past performance for investors to evaluate. Said record will be permanent and tamper-resistant as it is recorded in a smart-contract on the blockchain. It will also be easily accessible and legible through the blockchain.

“For hedge funds, it is hard for general consumers to distinguish good products and bad products,” SPINDLE CEO & President Masamitsu Hirai said. Hirai and his team aim to change that through the Spindle Platform.

Crypto Investment Banking at Blackstar

The SPINDLE platform is being built by the Blackstar Group, which specializes in “crypto investment banking.” Blackstar’s mission is to use crypto investments to make people more independent and give them more financial freedom. To achieve those goals, Blackstar has put together a team of fund managers, investment bankers, designers, and engineers dedicated to building solutions like SPINDLE.

The SPINDLE Project is headed by a seasoned hedge-fund expert. Over the course of his career Masamitsu Hirai has worked as a fund manager and adviser at Funai Soken Holdings Inc., head of derivatives at a Malaysian hedge fund, a fund manager, and CEO of an independent investment management company in Japan.

Star Power provided by GACKT

The most famous name on the SPINDLE team is Japanese recording star, writer, actor, producer, entrepreneur, and investor GACKT OSHIRO who serves as the project’s Asia Strategic Advisor. GACKT became famous as the vocalist of MALICE MIZER, and has since released 48 CDs and 19 albums under his solo stage name GACKT.

In addition to music, GACKT has starred in Japanese and Asian movies and appeared in Hollywood films, TV dramas, and on the Japanese stage. He is also famous as a voice-over artist for video games, animation, and Hollywood productions. GACKT’s New Year’s Day programs have some of the highest TV ratings in Japan. The multi-talented GACKT has also written movies and stage plays.

The idea is that GACKT’s star power and celebrity is leveraged to lure tens of thousands of users to the SPINDLE project.
