The UK government has officially declared Uber illegal.

Some 3.5 million passengers and 40,000 drivers use Uber in London.

Of course, the Mayor of London would agree saying it could pose a threat to Londoners' safety and security.

This is equivalent to the fear mongering the US and UK governments instill in the masses via mainstream media. This is how many egregious, rights crippling laws get passed.

Fortunately, we are at the start of the disintermediation revolution (death of the middleman). Uber is an abitrary central intermediary. Swarm City is an ICO that plans to decentralize Uber by utilizing p2p. It's decentralized business model renders an open marketplace where drivers and riders can connect anywhere in the world.

With p2p, the UK govt will have absolutely no awareness or say in the matter. Already, Swarm City is deploying in the US.
