Tremendous article @somethingsubtle! I think Patreon is a strong example of how this cryptocurrency ecosystem will evolve. We are already seeing it prosper whether that be on the market or on a place like Steeemit. The next ten years ahead will enlighten only further.
Yea, it will be interesting to see how it coincides with automation and job losses in 'traditional' work. If we make robots and algorithms do all the heavy lifting, can individuals make a living through their art or creative contribution instead through platforms like Steemit and Patreon? Sure, you may not get a private jet, but you may be able to make a solid living with your 20,000 fans spread across the globe.
It should be an exciting future.
