Why I Joined Steemit...

As we all know, Crypto Currency is the future. Our world is slowly beginning to drift away from the traditional national currency's that we use in everyday life (USD, AUD etc), and that is something that can have a massive impact on how our world works. So why am I so interested and excited about Steem in particular? Steem and Steemit are taking a step away from traditional website reward systems. Platforms such as Youtube, and Facebook, all can be said to have "centralized" reward systems, systems where the earnings of the creator come after the profits of the Company. This is why many Content Creators on those traditional platforms are complaining about their earnings, and then resorting to third party websites such as Patreon and GoFundMe in order to continue making content. Steemit is a big step in the right direction in terms of "decentralizing" the web, and that is very important to me...

So Mhat Moes it Mean to Decentralize?

If you look at the dictionary definition:

decentralized, decentralizing.
to distribute the administrative powers or functions of (a central authority) over a less concentrated area:
to decentralize the national government.

To put this into context for you, try looking at it like this...

Youtube is North Korea, and oppressive regime that sucks profits out of the hard work of the people for the good of a few, therefore being centralized.

Steemit is the USA, a free land that promotes open trade and profiteering for everyone, allowing the people to prosper. The country also places the fate of the country into the hands of the people through democracy. With this massive amount of freedom and limited government control, America is therefore decentralized.

Something I Want to be a Part of...

I firmly believe that Steemit has set a scaffold for the future of the internet, which is now being guided into something that I think we can all look forward to using. <3
