KAMBRIA – Envisioning the Future of Robotics

Introduction
Today, the World is having full of amazing technology which is transformed our lives totally. It was all started back in 2015 where the founders of Kambria launched a robotics company named OhmniLabs Inc. Later, Kambria is come up with their decentralized open innovation platform which is managed by Kambria International (KI). They enable and incentivizes collaborations in R&D, manufacturing, and commercializing advanced technology with the help of AI & Robotics applications in the consumer space.
The aim of this project is to engage a community of developers and tinkerers to provide them with the necessary tools and connecting them through market demand. They are trying to design and deliver the most capable and affordable consumer robots at 10x the speed, efficiency and ease.

Problem – Modern Robotics
The main problem is in the traditional development process in modern robotics which results in high cost production and that is not effective for the everyday consumer market. Other side, the robotics engineers are struggling with many challenges since the beginning of robotic development.
There is lack of good interfaces and abstraction layers for software, electrical and mechanical systems.
Many engineers are lacking in good tools for collaboration and sharing.
Robotics applications are slow, and expensive which is hard to make where innovation is also slow.
In manufacturing process, the turnaround ratio is slow, getting poor interfaces which results in higher costs, time and effort.

Solution – Blockchain & Crypto-economics
The solution where Kambria is come up with their innovative idea to revolutionizing the robotics community by providing an open collaborative ecosystem. Here, every contribution can easily be shared, manufactured, and implemented. Through blockchain, they enable systems that are open, transparent, trustless and fully decentralized.
On the other side, Kambria is introducing the crypto-economics into the robotics development cycle where they leverage to reward cooperation and penalize defection to – achieve lower barrier of entry for individuals and small teams to collaborate, provide economic incentives for contribution, provide intermediation for end-to-end robotics business challenges.

The Team
Dr. Thuc Vu – Co-Founder – AI & game Theory – He’s a serial entrepreneur, worked with many companies and last one is the Google. He’s having deep expertise in Game Theory, Tournament Design and Multi-Agent Systems. He completed his Ph.D. from Stanford and B.S. from Carnegie Mellon, in Computer Science.
Jared Go – Co-Founder – Robotics & Blockchain – He’s an avid maker and roboticist. Previously, he was a CTO and founding member at a network startup. He’s also having expertise in Blockchain, AI, Real-time Graphics, VR, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. He did his graduation in Computer Science from Stanford University.
Tingxi Tan – Co-Founder – Cloud Computing & Blockchain – He has a background in Cloud Computing, Network Infrastructure and Distributed System Design. He has been active in crypto investment since 2010. He graduated with an M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Calgary and B.Sc. in Applied Math from Western University.

The Social Media hype is excellent, and they are very active on their Telegram Group.
The Website and Whitepaper both explained in detail and easy to understand the project.
There are 9 core members in the leadership team who are having expertise in Game Industry, AI, Blockchain, Computer Science, VR, Graphics, Marketing, Finance etc. Most of them are a Ph.D. Holder.
They have 10 advisors on board who are having expertise in Blockchain, Cryptocurrency, Computer Science, IoT, Marketing Strategy etc. They are holding a position of CEO and Founder of such companies – Hashed, Kyber Network, WeTrust, Tomochain, NEO Global Capital, ATA Ventures, Homecare Assistance and Eye-Fi.
The Roadmap is explained well-structured in detail where MVP is released in April 2018. Currently, they are into a working phase of building their Beta version.
