Record 394% surge after introducing the word 'Blockchain' !!

Bitcoin was introduced in the year 2008 and was the first ever product built on top of blockchain. The concept of blockchain was introduced in the same year, but no one was aware of the term! It was only when prices of bitcoin surged to record highs, then people realised the true power of blockchain!

More cryptocurrencies started coming in, More ICOs were being launched, More companies were keen on adopting blockchain.

In the last year, we have seen quite a rage in the adoption of blockchain technology, and have witnessed an exponential growth in it! This might just be the beginning of another revolution!

Reputed companies like Microsoft, Google, IBM, SAP, Accenture, Goldman Sachs, and several others have already started their own research on the trending technology.

Lets see a recent disruptive idea that created quite a buzz!

A British company named On-line Plc that has been investing in internet and information businesses is having its best day on record after they just added the word 'Blockchain' in their name to change the name to On-line Blockchain Plc.

And they surged by a whopping 394%...!! They do have developments going on in the blockchain technology, and that's what signaled the surge.

Sounds crazy right? Thats where the world is heading!!

The company was listed in the year 1996, and the prices of stocks were flat ever since.

An interesting thing to note would be that trading volume in just two days reached a record 16 times the entire trade volume in a year before the last two days!

“Blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies are a new and exciting area we have been working on for some time,” the Essex-based company said in a statement on Thursday. “We feel the time is right to re-name the company to reflect these developments, where we believe the future growth will be in our sector.”

It seems like the word "blockchain" itself fueled the spike in prices, as investors are now seeing a future in it. But this is not the first time that a Name change signalled a surge in price by that much.

Another colorado based company changed name to Riot Blockchain Inc. and saw prices doubling!
