China's local Government introduce Blockchain in Public Sector

Chan Cheng District in southern china announced on 23rd june about the launch of Intelligent Multifunctional Identity (IMI) which is using blockchain technology to streamline government services for it's one million citizens.

Features and use of this new IMI system will be

1. Avoid filling repetative personal information for public services.
2. As the system is based on blockchain technology it will provide more security than previous method.
3. It will make government procedures more accessible to residents.
4. Authorities can keep track of personal activity if needed.

IMI system is Designed such that the system can verify users without being physically present at any service centre. This will be achived by using paired public and private keys.

Currently there is no information about when the system can be accessed for actual usage. Sources say that designed system can cover a wide network of public service such as tax, banking, Healthcare, and telecommunications.

    Yes I agree @fl32biz blockchain will enter public sector

    equates to a complete loss of privacy... i prey the people reject it :)

    In my view blockchain is used for secure transactions with encryption so it would be beneficial for public sector
