So, what makes Zilliqa special?

First of all, team behind this project is comprised of PhD level experts and researchers led by Xinshu Dong (CEO) and Prateek Saxena (​Chief Scientific Advisor).

Secondly, it's the technology.

Zilliqa focuses on solving scalability by the process called sharding. Sharding is the idea of splitting up large network processing transactions into smaller blocks. Each smaller block is being processed parallelly and merged together and the end. The more mining nodes join the network the more transaction per second can be processed.

Zilliqa test net has, so far, performed 2.488 tx/s with 3.600 nodes and 6 shards. The CEO Xinshu Dong has told CNBC that the goal is 10.000 transactions per second, making it the fastest blockchain network with Ripple coming in second with 1.500 tx/s.

Zilliqa team has also developed Scilla, a new language smart contracts which provides a distinction between the communication and formal verification.

The platform seems perfect for dApps that require thousands of transactions per second in throughput.
