Skyllz Platform: The Universal Skill Validation Protocol
Skyllz, presented by Workkola, is a proof of skill protocol which is built based on blockchain technology. It aims to validate and assess human skills. What does it mean and what kind of platform is it? Welcome to a new ecosystem for jobseekers and employers.
Project Background
These days, we are facing a difficult time of job seeking and recruitment. Every year, the number of unemployed people is increasing rapidly. Fresh graduates find it’s hard to get jobs for themselves in this competitive era. Obviously, they need ‘something’ will make them being recognized by the employers.
On the other hand, companies or business owners also find a difficulty to hire a small number of employees needed among hundreds or even thousands applications and CVs addressed to the companies. They have to avoid the possibility of hiring employees with higher degrees but their ability is questionable. For them, the most important matter is not the degrees, but what you can do for the companies: your skills and your talents. They need employees whose skills are validated.
Considering the needs of both parties, Workkola starts to build Skyllz Platform.
How Skyllz Distributed Platform (SDP) Works
Skyllz will validate various kind of skills people have, even students can get their talents being assessed and validated in the platform. The users of this platform are able to validate their skill allocation, contextualization and acquisition by using various Skill Touchpoints Applications (Stapps).
The ecosystem will consist of users who will take three different roles: talents, challenges and raters. Talents refer to users who want to validate specific skill sets. Then, the challengers refer to companies, professionals or educators who will give challenges ( in the form of problems) to the talents, which are expected to solve the problems. Raters are experienced users with certain skills. A rater could validate other users’ skills and gives them ratings.
For example, companies as a challenger post a problem to be solved. Then talents will try to solve the problem. Once the problem is solved, a rater will give ratings to the talent and once the rating is resolved, it will add a certain amount of Proof-of-Skill to the associated skills. Then, if it suits the challenger’s expectation, an amount of SKT (Skyllz Token) will be transferred from the challenger’s wallet to the talent’s.
Take a note that it is only a brief explanation of Skyllz way of work. You can read the rest information about other innovative features of Skyllz and the technology being used within the ecosystem on its whitepaper.
The SKT Tokens
Skyllz Token (SKT) is an ERC20 token which is needed to join the ecosystem and will be used to facilitate every transaction between talents and challenges within Skyllz Platform. This token is also used as rewards for the raters.
The private pre-sale of SKT has been ended in March 2018, but you do not have to worry since the public sale will be started on June until July 2018. Then, its public main sale will be held on July to August 2018.
Conclusion
After considering its goal, mission, market opportunity (you can read the information on its whitepaper) and its innovative way to provide an access and connection between employers and job seekers.
