Michael Wurzinger (AION Ambassador & Blockchain Event Manager) Joins Oath Protocol’s Shanghai Team

We are happy to announce a new Oath team addition -- Michael Wurzinger. Formerly with Siemens and Mercedes Benz, Michael has recently made a name for himself as Shanghai’s Blockchain Event Organiser & AION Ambassador. Michael joins Oath’s Shanghai headquarters to handle Community Management and Business Development.

Oath is building a protocol to achieve fair, transparent, and sustainable blockchain dispute resolution and governance. As a protocol, Oath operates across public chains as well as on dApps to facilitate decentralized community decisionmaking. Code is law, but we believe that community consensus is the real law. We therefore created a model that incentivizes all participating parties to use the voting process to resolve disputes that arise on P2P networks within pre-defined parameters and mechanisms. Transparency is blockchain’s key strength; it brings fairness to everyone. Under this slogan, we are building a sustainable platform to highlight this strength.

Before joining Oath, Michael worked in Marketing & Sales at Siemens’ Software Automation division both in Shanghai and Mumbai. After his time abroad, he returned to Germany, where he was born and raised, and spent three years in Business Management at Mercedes-Benz. In early 2016, Michael began his B.A. in International Management with a Focus on China at Konstanz University of Applied Sciences (Germany). At the University, Michael tutored Chinese Exchange Students in Economics and worked in the Logistics Department of one of the world’s largest supermarket chains in Switzerland, further expanding his range of abilities across both industries and cultures. Michael is a successful entrepreneur, having started a furniture trading company and an e-commerce trading company between 2015 and 2017. Michael is fluent in German, English, Spanish, Italian, and Mandarin.

Michael: “I am very excited to join Oath, where I will work on developing business strategy and marketing. I am excited about finding creative solutions, working with an outstanding team, and making a difference. Oath’s vision to become a standard protocol for public chains as well as dApps aligns with my own, which is to bring us closer to blockchain mass adoption via a solid fundamental layer. Blockchain governance and dispute resolution aspects of it have not seen as much attention as they deserve. I am, therefore, more than happy to be part of building up Oath along with my exceptional colleagues with diverse backgrounds.

Michael joined the blockchain space in early 2017 and was immediately fascinated by its disruptive potential. In early 2018, he moved back to Shanghai, where he was awarded a scholarship at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Here, in addition to improving his Mandarin language skills, he also developed a passion for public speaking and event management and started to build up a local blockchain community, which counts 700+ members. During this time, he hosted several events for NEM, EOS, AION (where he became an Official Ambassador), Lympo, and others, and rapidly built up reputation and a large network within the Blockchain Industry.
