LATIN AMERICAN COUNTRIES ADOPT BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY
We are in the last quarter of the year. No matter the good news that announces the next implementation of blockchain technology in society. The cryptocurrency market is still waiting for the big news that will blow up again as it did at the end of 2017.
Meanwhile we observe the trickle of positive news from many countries. The latest information comes from Chile. Several deputies presented on October 4th a resolution to the Chilean parliament requesting the adoption of blockchain technology by the government.
The reasons why this request was made are:
1.- The improvement of the energy industry and the security of the nation.
2.- The progressive substitution of the system of notarial registers that lately is being very expensive for the government. Adopting a decentralized system would allow a considerable saving to the nation and a greater precision and security when storing the information.
Last May, the Central Bank of Chile proposed introducing the regulation of the cryptocurrency market. This is something that many Central Banks of different countries are considering because it is preferable a controlled regulation of this market that the prohibition of it, since it would be necessary to close the Internet network, something impossible to do.
