Exchanging IP Addresses — The Better Way

Approximately 3.2 billion people use the internet . In fact, approximately 200 billion emails and 3 billion Google searches are made on a single day.

What all of have in common apart from other things is the IP address. But what the heck is this IP address?

An IP ( Internet Protocol ) address, is an identifying number for any computer. Having an IP address allows a device to communicate with other computers over internet.

Most IP addresses look like this:

The Role Of IP Address :

The IP Address provides an identity to any device. This is similar to any physical address like address of your college, your home and other. Just like physical addresses differentiate one house from other house, in the same way IP address is used to differentiate between billions of devices working on the internet.

Suppose I want to send a package to my friend living in another district, then I have to know the exact destination. It’s not enough to just put a package with his name on it through the mail and expect it to reach him. I must instead attach a specific address.

This same general process is used when sending data over the internet. Your computer uses DNS Servers to look up a hostname to find its IP address.

As said earlier, IP addresses tell websites and other services who you are and where you can be found on the internet. However, this information can tell others a great deal about you, including hackers that could be waiting to intercept or track your activity.

Why to hide IP address?

Although hiding an IP address can be viewed as something a little suspect, there are plenty of reasons why people may need to hide their IP addresses.

If someone is sending confidential company information virtually, they want want that information to stay secure, wherever they are using the internet. If you hide your IP address, your connection is much more secure, meaning hackers are unable to trace where the information or user originated from.

Another reason you may consider hiding your IP address would be to use services which are not available in your country. For example, if you want to Spotify from India you need to have a US-based IP address to use it, beacuse Spotify is still not available in India. By hiding your IP address, you are able to access such service, even if you’re not currently in the country where the service is not available.

The other reason for hiding IP address is the need to access certain websites which is either blocked in the country or university or workplace.

So, What’s the solution?

One solution is by using VPN( Virtual Private Network). VPN offers a connectivity to another network, and when connected your computer receives a new IP address from a VPN provider. Every traffic from your computer routes through the VPN network, so your true IP address assigned by your ISP(internet Service Provider) is hidden. Aside from hiding your IP address, using VPN allows you to access any network even though your network may be geo-restricted. They help you get on the Internet with a different IP address than the one provided by your ISP.

But we all know that each and every VPN are provided by certain companies, it is hard to believe which company is genuine and which company is fake. These companies might use our IP address and exchange them with advertisement company to have profit. It’s quite risky to use VPN as it is centralized.

Another way is to use Tor browser

Tor aims to conceal its users’ identities and their online activity from surveillance and traffic analysis by separating identification and routing. It is an implementation of onion routing, which encrypts and then randomly bounces communications through a network of relays run by volunteers around the globe.

But Tor too have many problems:

i) Low Bandwidth

ii) Not usable for business and service providers.

iii) Liabilities — you might have a problem when sharing your IP

To solve these problems, IP SHARING EXCHANGE (IPSX) comes to our rescue.

IPSX is Blockchain based system fully automated, with full clearing of utility tokens associating the price and distribution, based on offer and demand for IPs.

First level: You will be able to share your device’s IP address or as a Data Center to share a full range of unused IPs in order to win real-time IPSX tokens in a safe way. (All connections will be logged in the blockchain). As a client you would be able to access, in real time, IPs from all around the world and use them for short period of times, as of 5 seconds up to a whole month.

Second level: It will create a framework and a marketplace and allow any business and service providers to build custom made applications that require large volume of IPs based on our SDK and APIs. As a VPN provider, you would be able to integrate your system with our SDK to let your clients choose from millions of IPs from all around the world.

The advantages of using Blockchain technology:

i) Integrate cross platform clients -

ii) Create a marketplace where the request will meet the offer for IP services

iii) Sharing / renting IPs using custom filters time frame / price / GeoLocation / protocol

iv) Manage micropayments using ETH protocols and smart contracts

v) Record all “transactions” (IP shares owner/ client) in the blockchain.

We believe that the future of economy and Internet will be a fully distributed network, enabling users and actors from all sectors to securely and directly exchange content, without sharing it with corporations or other middlemen and 3rd party service providers.

In this direction, IPSX allows all the actors to participate in the internal economy of the ecosystem and provides a way of supporting the decentralized vision, shared economy and generating revenues. Of course, we will support and encourage the development of other technologies, many of which have gained significant traction in recent years.

Better data-sharing technologies are necessary, and in order to allow data sharing in an open and censorship free environment, the IPs are required, as the backbone of Internet protocols. Taking into account the ongoing development of IPFS, Swarm and other solutions, the time for fully decentralization seems to be within reach.

Eventually, the blockchain networks will become more scalable, more efficient, and will include a fully functional network of micropayment channels. The IoT devices will become easier to integrate and communicate with, and a larger volume of IPs will be available, thus allowing free internet. This concept of free internet we not only mean it in terms of upfront payment, but also free of all the restrictions, censorships, privacy thieves and sensitive, personal information data buyers.

IPSX will provide the easiest way for users from all over the world to help the Internet in becoming a fully decentralized and free of the actual less fair interests of different actors, by sharing IPs in an easy and totally transparent way among worldwide users and providing the fuel of truly decentralization for the Internet.
