How A Young Mechanic With Six Kids Makes His Way To Blockchain

in #blockchain6 years ago (edited)

I recently met a guy who is an Auto Repair Technician and had started his ICO. He is not similar to most of people I meet in the crypto community so I thought he might have a nice story to share. His name is Stephen Arsenault, he is 29 and lives north of Boston, MA, with six kids. He worked as a carpenter, industrial electrician and now is trying to make his way to crypto industry. He said he was always addicted to computers when he was a kid. And he was interested in bitcoin back when it was under a $1000.

This is what he is saying about himself:

“I remember seeing bitcoin back in 2010 and regret not getting involved then, just like the majority of newcomers, nowadays. I do what I can to be involved, try running a couple websites, have a few GPU miners running all time. My professional life consists of many different trades, but computers have only been a major hobby of mine since I was 12 years old. Back then, I participated in affiliate networks like cj.com, clickbooth and a few others, but didn’t stick with it long enough to make it a career.

I am currently enrolled in University of New Hampshire to further my coding abilities, to be able to move along to yet another career path, hopefully the last path I will be taking. My current career is an Automotive Repair Technician and have been one for about six years now. I have also worked in carpentry and spent another six years working as a industrial electrician, building/wiring/testing complex machinery for companies like Ingersoll Rand, Raytheon, SemiGear, Northwave Technology, and many more.”

Stephen had his first son when he was 20. Later on he was engaged to a woman who had two sons of her own; they ended up having a daughter and twin sons. Having such a big family was a reason for him to go back to school after many years. He now works every day fixing vehicles and then stays up till 4 in the morning trying to dig deeper into the blockchain industry.

He got his first GPU in February and started doing some money on mining. That’s how he could pay bills for his family house which cost around $4000 per month. Recently, he started his ICO on the Wizard platform on biometric security — connecting blockchain to the real world. His partner realized he was too busy so Stephen was left alone with his ICO. He then conceded he had underestimated the time he needed to keep it going. Anyway, he is pretty sure that every person who is having basic knowledge of computer can start his own ICO . "There are ICOs for dental and many crazy ICOs are going on,"— Stephen smirks.

He also recently got involved into Oracles Network as a public notary. That is what he thinks about his own and the industry's future:

“After being involved in blockchain for about nine months now, I can see that this is just the beginning of a new world order, a new currency that will be adopted by central governments around the world, eventually.

One of the biggest problems with blockchain and reasoning for the adoption not taking place is identity. There should be a system that will solve a big part of that and hopefully will open up eyes around the world. I think bitcoin would be widely adopted; we are going to see more Proof of Work and which is even more important — Proof of Quality — concepts over time."
