Developing the Mycro software

With each passing week, your knowledge base of Mycro grows and grows, for both the platform and the talent base that we have here at the office. Now, we introduce you to Tobias Fröhlich. Tobias is a senior software developer and works closely with Michael Siedenbiedel, whom you met last week.

A simple fascination

From a very early age, Tobias was fascinated with computers such as the Vectrex and the ZX Spectrum. His first programming experience was in BASIC, which he gained before his teenage years. “This had a decisive impact on my future career,” Tobias says, “over the years, I developed my coding vocabulary, and now I speak the common languages of software development fluently.”

In 2005, Tobias started a computer science course at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences. In the same year, he also founded FKT42, the web development agency along with Michael Siedenbiedel. In 2011, he moved on to being a student assistant at Fraunhofer IML in Dortmund, focusing on iOS application development.

“From 2014 onwards, my career path was closely linked to Michael’s, we work together very well!” he chuckles. Tobias became a managing director at FKT42 in 2014, which became an app development company in 2016 and gained its first permanent employee. 2017 was a big year for FKT42, in which it became a training company for IT specialists in application development.

Senior Mycro development

Tobias is a senior software developer for Mycro and works extremely hard on the integral parts of the platform. “I work with our development team to implement the app and the website. I take care of developing the smart contract t and website hosting.”, he says, “I’m the link between the designers and developers.”

As a lifelong coder, Tobias speaks plainly about the value that he brings to Mycro. “I’ve got years of experience managing software development,” he tells me, “I’m used to responding to the needs of the user and giving them the software they want.”

Love and a look forward

For a man so profoundly grounded in logic and science, Tobias has a deep and abiding love for Mycro. This is built from the wealth of experts that comprise the Mycro team from such fields as; design, software development, the blockchain, marketing and communication. Tobias puts it in simple terms, “We are creating a platform through an agile process that offers new opportunities to millions of people around the world that everyone can take part in!”

He sees big things in the future for Mycro; this is undoubtedly part of the reason that Tobias works to be such a big part of the development process. “I see Mycro as a platform that strengthens the community idea,” he says, “The platform contributes by allowing you to connect simply with people that can do the things you can’t or don’t want to.”

In true entrepreneur style, Tobias is prepared to put his money where his mouth is and utilise the Mycro platform as soon as it is available. “I need my old, space-consuming CRT television carried from my parent’s attic to the garbage dump,” he laughs.
