Network basics. Part 4: Data storage in the #MetaHash

The more transactions performed in the network, the more data must be stored. That’s why any project focused on a broad bandwidth faces the challenge of data storage and financial expenses related to such storage.
Just try to imagine an enormous amount of information needed to store and protect, taking into account that more than 50,000 transactions per second are confirmed in #MetaHash. Of course, you don’t have to guess — our team has calculated everything. So, on page 46 of Yellow Paper you can find all the information on the transactional and financial load on the network with a classification from second to year.
One of the goals of the recent release of the Infrastructure Torrent Node role — to store large arrays of user data (for example, video files). Thanks to this, it became possible, in particular, to place virtual machine images up to 4 GB in dApps .
But the whole idea is much more global: suppose user A intends to store a heavy file in the #MetaHash system, and user B has free space. In this case, user A pays user B a monthly amount of #MHC for storing this file on a monthly basis. Then, user B places a link open for the owner in his application #MetaApps, without having access to encrypted information. For all this, users A and B may not know anything about each other besides the wallet address.
Of course, these plans have yet to be implemented, but technical documents already confirm the fact that in the future a commission will be charged for rent. So far, nodes that will appear as recommended “repository” are being tested now — but in the future, #MetaGate will be modernized for optimal storage of distributed blockchain files of large size. For this, each #MetaGate user will be able to allocate part of his disk space for storing network files and receive a reward depending on the occupied volume of storage.
