San Francisco celebrates blockchain week, an event dedicated to crypto technology

San Francisco turned itself into a Silicon Valley of sorts as crypto enthusiasts filled up hotels, attended crypto seminars, crypto conferences and even crypto workshops focused on blockchain and the many applications one can utilize within it during “Blockchain week.”

Held from Oct. 5 to 12, the San Francisco Blockchain week has three main events: ETH San Francisco, SF Blockchain Week Epicenter, and Crypto Economics Security Conference. Through the conference, Ripple introduced XRapid Technology, which is a mechanism for fast cross-border payments that the company developed.

As a testament to this maturity, the blockchain week didn’t just bring out crypto enthusiasts, but also high-net-worth bankers and individuals clad in expensive clothing and driving the latest Ferraris and Lamborghinis. It might seem a bit too much at first, but well-off individuals sharing the same interest as your average Bitcoin enthusiast is a definite sign of the times. A sign that, in every sense of the word, means that the industry has grown way beyond its underground roots, and is poised to take it to the next level.
