Charity in the age of Millenials

Millennials or the people that are now between 20 and 30 years old are more generous when it comes to charities at Christmas time, and they are more likely to research their chosen charities before donating, according to research conducted by Worldwide Charity Commissions.

Younger adults are prone to be much more selective with their money, with over half of millennials polled saying they did at least a basic check of the charity’s track record and financial progress before making a considerable donation. That number fell to just 29 percent among seniors 75 and older.

The influence of this generation cannot be taken for granted in the current social spectrum. Meeting the expectations of the Millennial wave can prove to be a daunting task, but it might lead to new fresh and surprising opportunities. Some of the large charitable funds are pretty much behind when it comes to the implementation of new technology and emerging trends in the field, thus losing relevance and track at an alarming rate.

The trump card: Blockchain!

Giftcoin is a cutting-edge system designed to revamp charitable giving as a whole. With the overall trust in the charitable sector being seriously compromised, restoring the trust of the donors represents an instrumental step towards helping those in need.

As more and more disasters of all kinds, global refugee crises and an ever-growing divide between the rich and the poor, the need for giving is now greater than ever.

Giftcoin is not just another cryptocurrency. Giftcoin has the potential to radically change the general public’s attitude not only to the process of giving but towards the value of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology as a whole. While most media outlets prefer to picture cryptocurrencies as means to vile ends, GiftCoin wants to extend an “olive branch” to the world and prove that this technology can service more than money laundering or evading taxes.

Transparency: a key factor

Giftcoin is all about creating transparency along the way and trust in the original giving process. The traditional way of giving money to charity is sadly a one-directional experience. You entrust your money to the charity, and you hope it goes where you intended it but most of the times big chunks of the donation will be expended in processing fees and other obfuscated expenses. As GiftCoin is harnessing the power of blockchain you can have absolute confidence that your money is going exactly where you intended it in the first place.

A donation full cycle

By being able to track the direct impact of their donations, donors are given total confidence that their funds are being used for the cause donated, perhaps even creating a healthy habit of helping those in need. Each stage of the tracking process gives charities a resonant tool and a means to an end to driving engagement by communicating the final value of their work. These communications and engagement with the donor will foster a deeper relationship, while also driving social media awareness that the donor can share with their network of peers.
