BlockChain Changing the World?

I have listened to interviews and done some reading on the advancements of BlockChain technology & its ability to change the world through the creation of "contracts".

Forgive me if my terminology is incorrect.

I have heard people like Andreas Antonopoulos & Brett Weinstein discuss this as a possibility.

How are these contracts created & enacted? Further, how is it that the implementation of these types of contracts can bring about social change?
