Most ICO's are highly speculative unless you know the history of the members of the team offering the ICO. A good team is much more likely to succeed. Crowd sourcing itself is not directly involved with blockchain platform improvement and therefore has a lower likelihood of wide adoption. But if you test your assumptions and buy wisely, you should be OK in the long run.
