Fantastic, thought provoking piece @joanstewart. Being in IT and interested in blockchain, i need to give some thought to how I can introduce my kids to the technology to give them an advantage in the future. Staying current with technology will always keep people in demand in the workplace or even ensure that you don't have to work for a boss one day!
Moving with the times is a must, when I brought our very first home PC my boys were 7 and 9 years old, husband thought I was mad!
Wrote a DOS version of 'Hangman' to teach them spelling, typing, coordination, in a gaming situation (maybe too much gaming too young - they both still at it).
Convincing them into crypto is a struggle, although they completely agree on blockchain technology....
Keep head bashing! They bigger than me I cannot make them do it LOL.
i was born in poor family, we don't have tv and cellphone when i was in highschool, but now i am already working i realized that the world someday will be control by technology which all of us can get money by online like in crypto......

Is Steemit a safe environment for kids? Do you know of youngsters blogging here? Or do you think mining, Manna, Swift are where I should start?

As a parent find interesting reading or places to learn, children in many cases are already online, you just don't know. It is better as a parent to introduce them to it, preferably to finding out they have learned from friends.
