Token Review: Humaniq ($HMQ)

in #blockchain7 years ago (edited)

Humaniq ($HMQ) is a personal favourite project. In my opinion, this is an undervalued coin.

It just got listed on Upbit a few days ago and has been on Bittrex for a while.

Their team is super communicative (except their Telegram), with weekly Facebook, Medium, and Twitter updates.

They have been quietly plugging away at getting their product – mobile app-based micro-banking services in underdeveloped countries targeting the 2.5 billion people in the world who are un-banked – out into the cellphones of Africa, South America, and Asia. They aim "to shift emerging economies into the cryptoeconomy." (Source: Whitepaper)

That being said, there has been no activity on their GitHub for about six months, so I'm also not sure about whether their marketing is better than their coding, or what. They did release their app to Google Play on Nov 1st 2017 and last updated 30th Jan 2018, so perhaps they have just been focusing on service development rather than a lot of code development. So DYOR and invest wisely.

App security competition
Last week they invited hackers to attempt to break into their app in a competition. This will help them to develop a more secure application. (See http://j.mp/2CcmlBv for details.)

Whitepaper–

The Whitepaper is pretty math-heavy in places but that's actually a good thing. It shows that the team have thought through things properly.
I would like to see an updated Whitepaper though, as this one has been around since late 2016.

While I don't expect this token to rocket to the moon I do expect it to steadily increase its value as the team continues to plug away and tick things off. I like this token as a project, not as a high-gain investment.

They have been moving more slowly than their initial roadmap promised, but they are still getting what they say they will do, done.

I have high hopes that this project will leverage the decentralised, low-cost features of blockchain technology to benefit the people of these developing countries.

Whenever I have a small amount of ETH left over from other trades I top up little by little on $HMQ. I have a modest holding and plan to continue making small increases.

PEACE
