RE: BBF applies for Dexathon

Bitshares really needs some more trade options, such as stop-limit orders, profit taking orders, shorts, closing leverage with automatic market orders from the collateral ... but i believe that all of that can be worked on.

The second problem is that while trading on bitshares is really fast, running a full node its not exactly the most accessible thing to do. and it has even been said that bitshares is semi-centralized .

Sort:

deploying a bitshares node is as easy as:

docker run bitshares/bitshares-core:latest

Not sure what you mean by semi-centralized. The Blockchain itself is pretty much decentralized. The assets on top, may not be - much like TetherUSD running on Omni on top of bitcoin.

Yea. but i hear reports of it using more than 32 GiB of RAM. I also heard that using zramswap makes it so much easier.

As for decentralization, while i dont agree, some people dont like dPoS and consider it to be a centralized system.

To be clear, with default config, need about 16GB of RAM to run current mainnet. It's not hard (although not very easy) to adjust the config to fit your needs. Minimal requirement is about 2GB.

By the way, while we have more and more active users, we do need more powerful hardware to run the nodes.
