Mastercard - A private blockchain to certify identity
The MasterCard credit card issuer has just applied for a patent for the use of a private blockchain for its security.
Far from the public blockchains used by most cryptocurrencies, the MasterCard project is held at a totally private or semi-private blockchain. Its use will allow MasterCard to guarantee the identity of its users thanks to the immutability of the blockchain . Linked to the chain, each block will contain information on identities such as name, address or tax identification. Through this system, MasterCard will, among other things, automatically track the tax conditions of each user and apply the necessary measures if necessary.
This example shows once again the technical progress that blockchains represent. Whether private or public, the democratization of their use is now only a matter of time.
