Liu Guoping, Founder of Hero Node, Talked About Blockchain’s Cross-chain
Liu Guoping, one of the first miners for Bitcoin, is a technician in blockchain application, the pioneer of Hero Mobile Cross-platform Framework Development, and President of Hero’s Board of Directors. Having served in a few famous Internet companies such as Wind Information, The 9 Limited, and Dianrong, he was responsible for technology development, and participated deeply in the scene development of blockchain application.
For years, he has been devoted to the framework development and blockchain application’s scene development, and in 2017 he tried to combine these two elements to create a brand new Hero Node, which aims to remove obstacles in developing Dapp; he believes Dapp will bring about a new era when life is more beautiful.
Recently, there is a heated discussion about the cross-chain, so here we will talk about our understanding towards it.
- Value Cross-chain
(It is in fact what those exchanges have been doing.)
Centering exchange, including Huobi and OKEX, etc.
Decentering exchange, ethDelta with no cross-chain, Loopring cross-chain (which needs to maintain his own business chain record and should not tamper the order data.)
What is the most urgent on a Value Cross-chain’s list-to-do is to solve the problem of security trust rather than that of speed, because a business needs the offer of your opponent. If no one sells bitcoin, it is impossible for you to cross-chain ETH to bitcoin.
- Business Cross-chain
For example, Ens is a well-known Dapp on Ethereum; although with 0.01 ETH you are able to do the register, you should finish a series of process like tender opening, tender competition, tender exposure, and purchase. Actually, the consumed gas will exceed the price of DNS in reality.
Similar examples are cats-raising, lottery, card-games and etc.
In fact, a developer anxiously wants to place his business operation on a chain that is of low-loss and high-TPS (for example, EOS), while he may choose a high-reliability and high-value chain (ETH, & BitCoin) for the contract value delivery. In this way, a developer can decide for himself from which chain he can collect the data needed for operating a business.
3.Framework Cross-chain
A large number of companies would desire to place their businesses on Ethereum, because recently this is the only public chain product that shows maturity and stability and because companies transfer to other chains if they become mature. After all, Ethereum is expensive and functions slowly too.
Many geeks in blockchain technology would criticize that this is showing ignorance towards blockchain, and that transference is a centering thought.
But can you think of this issue: “Does the absolute trust exist?”
De-centering is on the measurable scale. Engineeringly speaking, we need the trusted platform to boost trust, rather than we need the theoretical absolute trust. Hence, the framework cross-chain is necessary in terms of business and engineering.
Hero Node hopes to consider such issues from the perspective of a Dapp developer.
First, we will package a large part of public chain operations into a few APIs of fixed format so that business developers can develop their own blockchain programs without considering the sheer complexity of blockchains. They also have enormous freedom in choosing, able to transfer a public chain corresponding to their applications. That is what we call framework cross-chain.
In the meantime, we suggest developers choose to place a portion of business on one public chain and the other portion on the other public chain. This is what we call business cross-chain. We are also supporting our partners when they use our technology to develop the completely de-centering digital coin exchange for a realization of the value cross-chain.
