The top three insights we gathered by retrieving feedback from our herosphere.gg closed beta testers
By currently having a group of highly engaged beta testers, we have a great opportunity to seek direct feedback and valuable insights from our hardcore supporters. We are in a constant and lively interaction with the beta users, allowing us to fully understand every action they take and input they have. Besides hunting down our platform for bugs and providing us with feature requests, they took their time talking to us, resulting in particular qualitative talks. Being able to gather honest and direct feedback about our own solutions and pain points, is something we value very high and is essential in order to build a fun product. Analysing our on-platform wallet creation process
Is it perceived as an easy to use solution?
At the current technological state, there are no similar use cases that have published a working & user-friendly solution that we could have gotten inspired by. Therefore we have come up with our own and unique way of an on-platform wallet handling. Consequently, we must know if our solution is easy to understand and flows smoothly. Without giving too much away, the wallet creation process consists of multiple steps, during which the user is guided with information and visuals. Our community has significantly agreed that our wallet solution is a success, hence 90% gave us positive feedback. Furthermore, we can be sure that the estimated time needed to setup a wallet is accurate, since only a few people needed longer than expected. Again, only a small amount of users stated some confusion on some of the steps, but eventually solved the tasks themselves. Those are some very promising results, because the vast majority of our testers never created an on-platform wallet before. Moreover, we got additional feedback, mostly about how information is depicted and highlighted, which helped us to rework some of the wallet creation steps and make the whole process more self-explaining in general.
Transaction usability & contest handling
Do people want to carry out and consequently pay for transactions themselves?
Should herosphere.gg as a platform pay for the transactions and handle the buy-ins of each user? Each buy-in is a transaction on the blockchain, coming with transaction costs and confirmation time. No one wants to use a platform where one has to pay for transaction costs and wait until the transaction is confirmed just to participate in a contest. This is not the user experience we want to offer. In general, users can perform a transaction and pay for it, or herosphere.gg as a platform can do it for them. This would be the case by giving us an allowance to transfer funds from a wallet into a contest contract.
Only 16% of our beta testers prefer to pay for their transactions instead of letting us do it. We established a business model that allows herosphere.gg to take over work & costs and thereby satisfies over 80% of our users, providing them with a convenient way to use the platform. Running a product on the blockchain is not accomplished easily, moreover coming up with a easy to use solution is even more complex. Offering our community such a valuable USP is something we are very proud of, still we will consider and weight off if a more flexible solution is needed in the long term. In the case of more miscellaneous feedback in the future, morphing and adapting is a possible scenario.
Target group & future challenges
Behavior and usage of other blockchain based services?
Do our testers usually participate in esports predictions or fantasy gaming and do they also use other cryptocurrency services? This is a very interesting insight. We learned that only about one-third of our BETA testers usually engage in blockchain online betting, letting us believe to see a clear trend. Cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology got an unbelievable hype during 2017, although the technology obviously is out there for a longer period of time. Many early adopters are frustrated and want to finally experience real use cases for their cryptos. Providing an easy and fun usage for HEROcoin will result in benefiting a broad crypto target group with a utility for their tokens. Additionally, only one person of our beta participants has ever used a cryptocurrency betting provider, leaving us to believe that legal, entertaining and trendy solutions are desperately needed. A coincidence that HERO is hardly working on those points? We think not..
