Can the Blockchain Produce Some of the Top 100 World's Billionaire By 2029?

in #blockchain5 years ago

Often described as the next internet, the blockchain technology has the potential to disrupt several sectors of the modern world.

Just like the advent of the internet and its eventual adoption revolutionized every known sector of the human society, the blockchain technology, experts believe, will be more disruptive than the internet ever was.

If these assumptions are correct, then it follows that most things that are done on the internet today will have to migrate to the blockchain to stay relevant.

And it may interest the reader to know that for about two decades following its mass adoption, the internet according to cnet.com is now worth over $19 trillion. The blockchain of everything should be worth two or three times this figure in the next decade.

Therefore, it is not surprising that the present Forbe list of top 100 world's billionaire has not less than three Internet merchants in the top ten category. This tells us how successful and prosperous the internet of things has become.

Unfortunately, the internet did not profit the masses economically because it is largely centralized. Instead, a few people, whom I will call the Internet merchants, are the biggest beneficiaries. They exploit the centralization of the internet alongside other vulnerabilities to amass wealth for themselves. They built empires by making products out of people.

Little wonder why the owners of Amazon, Google, Facebook, Microsoft, etc are not only some of the richest people in the world but also some of the most influential. They have the whole world in their palms.

A TEDX talk about the potential of the blockchain technology

Anyway, the internet has reached its apogee. The era of decentralization, powered by the blockchain, is now upon us. In short, we are at the threshold of seeing the blockchain of everything and the redefinition of money.

Overshadowed by the fear of being left behind and perceiving that the future is bleak for centralization, tech giants such as Facebook, Amazon, Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, etc are starting to desperately pursue blockchain projects, although I doubt if their inherent greed will make them successful in their quest.

Although now in its last days, the internet performed magic by turning two Harvard drop outs, Bill Gates and Mark Zukerberg, into renowned billionaires. This couldn't have happened if their businesses were not internet driven.

Well, the blockchain should be expected to do much more for the early adopters and for those who are able to leverage on the possibilities and opportunities which the blockchain presents.

Already, we're beginning to see a couple of fantastic blockchain projects on the Steem blockchain. A lot is also happening on EOS, Tron, and even Ethereum.

Decentralized applications are springing up by the day in their numbers and many businesses are coming to life.

These entrepreneurial efforts are being overlooked but they make the next decade quite promising for the blockchain technology. If the tempo of progress we're presently seeing with blockchain is sustained or heightened, it is expected that some blockchain investors and developers will make the top 100 world's billionaire list by 2029, whiich is just a decade away.

Imagine what will happen when we have over 10 million active users interacting with the Steem blockchain on daily basis. Imagine what will happen when Bitcoin has reached its maximum supply. Imagine what will happen when mobile phones are running on OS built on the blockchain. The possibilities and opportunities before us are boundless.

Can the blockchain produce some of the top 100 richest people in the world by 2029? Only time will tell.

Until I come your way again, I wish you a full Steem ahead.

Oh dear @gandhibaba, it won't be their greed the factor that may guarantee for them the domination, it will be their capital.

Even in this blockchain we can see how the forces of capital predetermine the direction and rewards.

And it is not only because of the "proof of stake", because at other projects by other algorithms these forces also manifest their power.

For example, in the mining process of currencies like BTC, who can make the most rewards and dominate the pools? The richest miners. Those who have the capital to establish the biggest mining farms.

It is the capital, my friend. That's why Evil Corp will launch its currency, and it will be the most famous and used. It will become the reference, just because it will have the highest number of users and transactions.

Here, outside of Mr. Robot's fantasy, we have several Evil Corps. And yes, undoubtedly you're right, the richest people of the world will be, in next years, those whose power is built on blockchains and all the new technologies.

Hi @gandhibaba, very good read, congratulations!

This is nothing more than tangible evidence of the potential that blockchain represents, and the expectations generated by a technology that burst with great force, which despite the tractors continues its accelerated pace towards the top, I think this is unstoppable although there are now many enthusiasts cautious about fluctuations, instability and all that, even so, projects based on this technology far from diminish increase.

If the tempo of progress we're presently seeing with blockchain is sustained or heightened, it is expected that some blockchain investors and developers will make the top 100 world's billionaire list by 2029, whiich is just a decade away.

Due to the winds that blow this technology it will not reduce its development speed, I think that in the coming years there will be an increase in the development of Blockchain-based projects, which can confirm your theory.

Can the blockchain produce some of the top 100 richest people in the world by 2029? Only time will tell.

I definitely think so, everything indicates that this industry will continue to grow and those who arrived first have a great advantage to integrate that list.

Thank you friend, I just hope our part hahaha.
@fucho80

I like the way you write =)

Good motivation speech for near-executive people.

Hahaha thanks man. I appreciate.

Dear @gandhibaba

I absolutely love topics related to technology and blockchain. Upvoted already.

Can the Blockchain Produce Some of the Top 100 World's Billionaire By 2029?

My answer would be: it depends mostly on one simple question - is world economy indeed entering recession? And will that recession be as bad as many predict?

If that would be the case, then it's really hard to tell if just 10 years would be enough to achieve your suggested goal. However if world economy will be still growing then I would expect that corporations related to AI and blockchain will bring many new millionaires.

The blockchain of everything should be worth two or three times this figure in the next decade.

Perhaps within next decade new technology will replace blockchain (which isn't really perfect solution). Who knows :)

Well, the blockchain should be expected to do much more for the early adopters and for those who are able to leverage on the possibilities and opportunities which the blockchain presents.

Let's drink for that! :)

ps. did you hear that Jack Ma has been apparently forced to step down few days ago?

Hope you're gonna have an easy monday :)
Yours,Piotr

Thanks for your interesting perspectives here - always a pleasure to read your thoughts.

I think that I agree with you. Well, only time will tell.

Great post as we are looking at a generation transfer of wealth that on its way.

Thanks for your fine comments. Hopefully, we'll not get missing in action when the time finally comes.

@gandhibaba, I see this picture in this way. If value of dollar goes down and if people prefer Cryptocurrency as investment against Stock or Bond then definitely in my opinion we can see richest individuals from Blockchain Space.

I absolutely agree with you. And I think many of the things you mentioned here will start happening soon. Cheers!

Let's see. Have a great time ahead.
