Wemark - content platform for independent photographers

Leaders of the content market took over the majority of customers and sellers, causing an even greater snowball effect. Industry giants such as Shutterstock or Getty have captured the lion's share of the market and dictate their terms, taking up to 85% of photographers and designers income. In addition, the rights on the content belong to photobanks, not photographers.

Wemark is a blockchain-based decentralized market for digital content, designed to change this situation by providing photographers with a convenient platform for placing and licensing content. The platform will allow independent photographers to fully manage their content and receive a fair reward for their work.

The Wemark platform has the following advantages:

• Unlike photobanks, the platform allows customers to buy photos without intermediaries, thus lowering prices by minimizing costs.
• A new, higher standard of data transparency, provided by the Ethereum blockchain, which does not allow changing and manipulating records in public database.
• The domestic economy of the platform is supported by its own cryptocurrency, providing flexible opportunities for customers and photographers.
• Smart-contracts automatically distribute the reward between photographers and the marketplace in the ratio of 85% / 15%.

Wemark allows photographers:

• To receive 85% of the revenue from sold content instead of 15 - 30%, provided by traditional photobanks. Wemark cannot lower this rate without the consent of photographers.
• To be aware of who licensed their content and has full copyright, controlling the cost. The platform can only distribute content, but rights are not transferred to anyone.
• To become a full member of the independent photographers community of and part of a transparent environment that works autonomously and can not manipulate personal data, content and copyright.
• To expand the audience through a profitable affiliate program that allows you to reward users for promoting your content.

WMK tokens are compatible with the ERC-20 standard and are used as the main payment tool within the platform, as well as to reward participants for creating and promoting digital content. Using WMK tokens, photos will be licensed through the Wemark protocol. In the future, other functions will be added, for example, purchase and rental of equipment, payment of legal services and the possibility of hiring models for photography.
