BITNATION - an attempt to replace the state with blockchain
BITNATION is, perhaps, the most ambitious blockchain-project on the market. Its authors do not plan to "earn a bit" on any niche service and are not even going to "disrupt" some very important industry (like banking). No, these guys have much bigger plans - they want to "cancel" the state machine itself.
The BITNATION platform allows creation of virtual "nations", relations between "citizens" of which will be regulated by smart-contracts that, in combination with the platform's capabilities, will take place of laws, courts and constitutions.
The BITNATION project started in 2014, when the Ethereum platform
provided the necessary tools: effectively implemented smart contracts, decentralized computer and digital jurisdiction. A significant role was also played by the development of artificial intelligence systems. It is on the basis of Ethereum that the Pangea network is launched, through which BITNATION operates.
Although the project of a "digital state" may seem like some king of child's play, the creators of BITNATION consistently add new, quite serious elements of the digital bureaucracy, including:
- registration of marriages in the blockchain
- birth registration
- notary certification
- assistance in the restoration of refugee documents
Any community or even a single person can create "digital volunteer nation without borders" in the Pangea blockchain. BITNATION provides a special "virtual nation" smart contract for this, where the creators of the new "state" can write down their code of laws and rules, which will then be saved in the blockchain, and the network will automatically enforce it. The network functionality is able to ensure the implementation of contracts with any terms.
The decentralized database and blockchain capabilities will ensure that even the "founding fathers" will not be able to change the laws of their "nation" on their own.
PAT token - the internal token of the Pangea network will be used as the "money of virtual nations". Payment for "legal support" of laws and contracts is also conducted with PAT token.
Perhaps, it is the developed system of smart contracts and "digital legal support" that is the key value of the Pangea network and the BITNATION project. Digital states and, especially, replacement of the existing bureaucratic and state apparatus are more like a beautiful dream and game (at least at this level of society's development). But the ability to create a smart contract with terms of any complexity, carry out its professional audit and track its implementation in one network is quite impressive, so the demand for PAT tokens is expected to be high.
At the moment, about 500 "nations" are registered in the Pangea network with 15,000 "citizens", but the number of the community members exceeds 50,000, and there are more than 5,000 notarized smart contracts. So yes, people are not so much interested in utopian ideas but in more practical aspects of the platform.
