Storing scientific data on a blockchain

in #blockchain8 years ago

At the end of 2016, U.S. scientists were scrambling to back up scientific data because they feared the Trump administration would dismantle their databases. (see https://www.inverse.com/article/25184-scientists-backup-climate-change-data-donald-trump). Blockchain technology could prevent catastrophic scientific data loss due to government interference, natural disaster or evil haxors. I wondered if anyone was tackling this problem and some quick searching led me to this site: http://www.blockchainforscience.com , but it seems to be mostly vaporware. Is anyone aware of ongoing activity in this area? Comment below.
