Blockchain Developments - Insurance
I have no doubt that in the coming weeks and months a flood of cutting edge Blockchain/Decentralised based companies and startups are going to hit the headlines. They will offer new ways of doing things and new ways to see the world, our lives will change (for the better hopefully), and will end up with new priorities.
One example is Steemit of course, last week it was Openbazaar 2, but today I got an email from an innovative startup in the Insurance sector which I wanted to share. We are going to see many more companies like this but this is the first one I have come across with a working model.
Blockchain and Insurance
If your new to this space or for some background reading on Blockchain and Insurance the following link from a few months back gives a good introduction.
Teambrella
The concept of Teambrella is very similar to that of Mutual insurance or Insurance clubs where members share risk and compensate members if an insured event occurs. According to the website this is an up and running app with groups in Peru, Argentina and The Netherlands. You can join early access at https://teambrella.com/join/team

Their initial offering is focusing on pet insurance in Latin America and Bicycle Insurance in The Netherlands.

Have you used this app or another Insurance based Blockchain app?
I would love to hear your experiences.
Thank you for reading this. I write on Steemit about Blockchain, Cryptocurrency, Travel and lots of random topics.
Exciting times ahead, everyone on Earth will know what Blockchain is in a few years, whether they want to or not.
It could work in a few years, however the volatility of cryptocurrency at the moment sort of defeats the purpose of insurance which needs to be safe and guaranteed.
Sure it's early days but there are certainly ways to deal with the volatility, assets such as usdt for example, or even sbd.
You are absolutely right. Our time is only the beginning of cryptocurrency. New startups offering decentralized solutions to our everyday problems will start popping up soon.
Your understanding of Blockchain is great, you can predict for the future and I think so too.
the future will be amazing!
I love that you're bringing attention to this kind of stuff. Cryptocurrency is still in its infancy and we are still early adopters, at this point.
There are already plenty of startups offering decentralized solutions.
Earlier today I saw a post from @adsactly about this music streaming service called OPUS.
If it or something else survives the waves, we could see SoundCloud replaced very soon.
Keep up
