In general terms, a curator is a person who maintains and monitors something or someone. The Time Swappers platform within the Era Swap ecosystem will have dedicated Curators who will monitor the platform as well as its members. Let’s see how it works.

Curators will be provided specific training to monitor the platform.

Before one can understand what a curator is, they must first understand what the Time Swappers platform is and how it works.

Time Swappers is a peer to peer service marketplace developed on the blockchain. The platform connects services providers with potential consumers for efficient and low-cost trading of services in the form of tokenized time. The value of the services provided by a seller is timed in the form of Era Swap Tokens. The seller gets paid in tokens for the time they provide to the buyer. For a comprehensive platform like Time Swappers to work, a number of elements are required. Era Swap Curators are one such element.

Since Time Swappers is a blockchain based P2P marketplace, it has no middlemen. But at the beginning stage, someone is needed who will take care of disputes between buyers and sellers, if any. The task is performed by Curators who are designated members of the Era Swap community and helps monitor and maintain the Time Swappers platform.

Since Curators are also a member of the community, anyone can become one by fulfilling the following conditions:

  • Vest 10,000 EST - to ensure that the person understands their duties and follows the rules
  • Fill up Curators’ Form with the required details

The application is then processed by the system. Upon approval, he/she becomes an official Curator on the platform.

Roles of a Curator

First and foremost, Curators are required to provide an unbiased and timely resolution of any dispute that may arise on the Time Swappers platform. A user may choose to raise a dispute if he/she is unsatisfied with a transaction. Five random curators are selected to resolve the dispute through an unbiased voting between the curators. A Curator can accept or reject the system-generated request to participate in a specific dispute resolution. If he agrees, he will have to study the entire case along with the evidence provided by the involved parties, investigate the same in an unbiased manner and provide a vote accordingly.

  • The result of a dispute hearing is published within 48 hours.
  • A Curator must be available online to resolve at least 50% of the time monthly
  • If a Curator denies to participate in a dispute settlement case, he shall lose 10% of his Curator reward.
  • A Curator who votes in the favour of the losing party in a dispute will also lose 25% of his Curator reward.
  • The minimum duration for Curator membership is 6 months.
  • The prime objective of a Curator is - responsibility, advocacy of truth and unbiased decision making.

How are Curators rewarded?

A user who joins the platform as a Curator and actively participates in the dispute cases is rewarded 5% of the Newly Released Tokens (NRT) every month.
